扩展只在以下页面上运行,用来显示和定位你的划线:arxiv.org/html/…、ar5iv.org/html/…、ar5iv.labs.arxiv.org/html/…,打开导入的论文时本项目主页上的阅读页(clamours.github.io/arxiv-html-helper/reader.html),以及早期版本的"导入 PDF"写出的本地论文页面(在其他本地文件上不会启用)。
Privacy Policy
arXiv HTML Helper ("the extension") has no server of its own. It does not collect, track, or sell any user data, and contains no ads or analytics. Your data stays in your browser and is sent to the services below only when you use the corresponding feature.
Data stored locally
The following is stored in your browser (chrome.storage.local and the extension's IndexedDB) and is never accessible to the developer: your highlights, notes and the quoted text they anchor to; your paper library (arXiv ids, titles, authors, abstracts and other paper details, timestamps, groups, stars, and your notes on whole papers); translations displayed by translation extensions on paper pages; pages generated by "Import PDF"; and settings, including WebDAV credentials and your MinerU token, which never leave your device and are excluded from sync and backups. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it; backup files you exported, and paper pages that earlier versions of "Import PDF" saved to Downloads/arxiv-html-helper/, are ordinary files you can delete yourself.
Data sent to third parties
- arXiv API (
export.arxiv.org): arXiv ids of papers in your library (when you open the library or copy a citation), to fetch titles, authors, years, abstracts, categories and DOIs. No notes are sent. - Your WebDAV server, if you enable WebDAV sync: your notes, library, groups, saved translations and pages generated by "Import PDF", plus the username and password you entered to log in.
- Google Drive, if you enable Google Drive sync: the same sync data, written to the hidden app-data folder. Only the
drive.appdatascope is requested; other files in your Drive cannot be read. - MinerU (
mineru.net), when you use "Import PDF": the PDF you choose and your MinerU token, to convert the PDF into a web page. The PDF is uploaded to MinerU's servers and is subject to MinerU's privacy policy. - GitHub Pages (
clamours.github.io), when you open an imported paper: the browser loads an empty reader page from this project's website, and the extension fills in the paper on your device; the paper itself is never sent to GitHub. As with any web page, GitHub receives the request, including your IP address and the paper id in the URL (the first 20 hex digits of the PDF's SHA-256, not its content), subject to GitHub's privacy statement.
Site access for WebDAV, Google Drive, MinerU and the reader page is requested as optional permissions only when you turn on those features. No data is sent anywhere else.
Web content accessed
The extension runs only on arXiv HTML paper pages (arxiv.org/html/, ar5iv.org/html/, ar5iv.labs.arxiv.org/html/) on the reader page that imported papers open in (clamours.github.io/arxiv-html-helper/reader.html), and on local pages saved by earlier versions of "Import PDF". It reads the paper text and inserted translations to display your highlights; all processing happens on your device.
Limited use
The use of information received from Google APIs and all other user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the features above, is not transferred to third parties except as needed for features you turn on, and is never used for advertising, creditworthiness, or any unrelated purpose.
